The size of the sphere is linked to the horizontal mouse position.
Click and drag to rotate the sphere manually.
My initial attempt to achieve this is included as comments in the code. I was on the right track, rotating the ball on two axes and translating on the third, but the complex maths around Fibonacci spirals was completely outside my experience. A little trawling turned up a sketch that I was able to deconstruct and rework to achieve the result I wanted though. All the code reference I used while developing this sketch is commented in the code. Talk about a learning curve!
