We developed Brain/Sync as an installation to follow and reinforce our talk at the 2013 Mozart and Mind Symposium, “Rhythm, Music, and the Brain: A Dialog on Neuroscience and Percussion.” (http://www.mainlymozart.org/music-and-the-brain-expos). Building on a discussion of the neuroscience of rhythm, Brain/Sync was aimed to give small groups of participants fresh insight into concepts of synchronization – both in music and in the brain – as they create rhythms together and form a network of communication.
