Optical Illusion

An optical illusion I saw in a post by John Baez, https://plus.google.com/u/0/117663015413546257905/posts/M4UyZunLmov. In the presence of the black bars the coloured blocks appear to jump forwards whereas in reality they are moving at constant speed. You can verify this by holding down the mouse button on the image which will remove the bars.
